“Meridian Coda” is fabricated from Stainless Steel. The sculpture was planned as a
series of interconnecting, planar pieces that were cut from flat, metal sheets. Special
metal fabrication machines were used to form the various arcs and curves. Overhead
cranes were employed to move each piece into place. Fabrication was done by welding
all the pieces together.
The winning sculpture is a summarization of all ten, previously constructed, sculptures
in the “Meridian” series. This final “Coda” is the culmination of all the sculptures in the
series. “Meridian Coda” invites viewers to be a physical part of it. The spaces around
the forms are as important as the forms themselves
